This book will reassure you that you are not alone in your pain, other people do experience what you are going through. I found it to be very helpful in dealing with life after diagnosis. Kathleen Lewis has been there and greets each one of us where we live today. I'd recommend this book to people living with disease, their families and their support givers.

'Sugar & Spice with a Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract' had to take a creative mind to think of such meaningful messages to be read with candidness. Frenia takes the reader on a journey of real life issues. Women buy the book! Men buy the book for your wife or girlfriend or casual lover, whatever, just buy the book. The characters in the book are so real to life in 2006. It is a must read!! I ENCOURAGE women and men with teenage daughters between the ages of 15-and up to allow them to read the words in which the author has painted on a canvas in black and white. I could not put the book down because it was that great! A toast to the author! I can't wait until her novel, Anonymous...comes out!

I started using her program in conjunction with OA 3 years ago, and added regular exercise at a gym, and I'm down 100 lbs, and by following her suggestion of potato at night, I've been off of antidepressants since.

This book is an amazing journey through the human side of life. Stifler addresses spiritual awareness through despair. This book is not only for those contemplating suicide, but for all of us that have had despair in one sense or another.

I don't know if it's just taking a half hour a day to think about yourself and confirm positive things with yourself but I saw an immediate difference within the first few days of using this tape. Maybe it's just taking a minute to slow down and think happy thoughts, I don't know, but I appreciate this tape for giving me that 20-30 minutes a day. I feel like my old self again and I greatly appreciate it.

There were families without milk... for three years. The railway workers' families interviewed in this government study, represented one of the more stable and well-to-do segments of society. The facts represented in the numerous tables and family profiles, send a stark wake up call to us today. We certainly can learn from the hardy stock of these depression era pioneers. There is also great benefit in that this study can be reproduced today, using the included survey sheet. Analyzing the similarities between the first four years of the Great Depression and financial circumstances today, at the cusp of a yawning recession, will provide keen insight into what we can expect in the future.

Having had PPD myself, I found this to be the best book on the market for "hearing" stories of other women like me. Most of the books out there are very clinical or a story of a single person. Because this provided a greater portrait of the women themselves, it provided the most healing for me. We need more books like this.
