A Book For Overcomers!
Helpful Votes: 4 out of 4 total.
Review Date: 2003-11-08
Don't let negative emotions keep you from living abundantly. This book shows you how you can overcome the negatives of your past and get on to living a life of goodness and mercy.

The author admits he is an overcomer himself. He says he overcame depression through humor, work, and exercise. He adds, "I have found that depression does not have to be debilitating. It can be managed and minimized so that its power is not so all-consuming." A person who is emotionally detached can help a depressed person gain a healthy, truthful perspective.

He talks about taking guilt away from victims of depression. Consider the question he asks, "We need to ask ourselves if we would suggest only spiritual help for someone suffering from any other inherited illness, physical injury, or biochemical imbalance." He says getting medical help for depression does not go against the Scriptures.

This book is right on target in offering steps to deliverance from depression and showing you how to take each baby step in the journey. Read it. It will bring health and healing if you follow its advice.

Hard Times For Jake Smith is a novel set against the background of the 1930's "Great Depression". MaryJake Wildsmith is a 12-year-old girl whose family has fallen on hard times and must leave their worn out farm and migrate somewhere else in search of better prospects. MaryJake thinks she's going with her family but instead is dropped off at the edge of a forest and told to go on into town and fend for herself as best she can. Hurt, bewildered, unprepared, MaryJake ignores her mother's instructions, dyes her hair, disguises herself as a boy, and makes her own way into the world as "Jake Smith". Eventually she uncovers a web of secrets stretching back to before she was born, makes friends, and finds family when she least expects to. Very highly recommended reading and enthusiastically recommended for community library collections, Hard Times For Jake Smith draws from author Aileen Kilgore Henderson's own experiences growing up on a farm in Alabama during the 1930s and gives her superbly written story a true feeling of authenticity.

What does it take to overcome the emotional wounds, painful memories, fears and negative beliefs that control our lives?
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2008-08-16
People commonly assume that you either have to undergo years of therapy sessions (discuss the issue until you resolve it in your mind), continually repeat affirmations every time you feel uncomfortable (keep telling yourself to ignore what you feel and believe the opposite), or just accept that you feel bad about something in your past.

Often, those who have worked to `release' their emotional wounds, are surprised to discover that these emotions (which have merely been tucked away and not released, as many techniques claim to do) are still creating havoc in their daily life and can resurface with the same level of strength and distress at any time.

There is an alternative!

Greene's Release is a simple, yet highly effective technique that permanently releases the underlying cause of any emotional distress in one single session. So much so that the person can think of the particular issue again afterwards and feel absolutely nothing, or blank.

"It is amazingly powerful because it is real" says Janet Greene, creator and author of Greene's Release.

Resolve issues instead of staying in the drama. You can either spend your time in the drama of wanting to escape situations and emotions, or decide to end them permanently by resolving their cause with Greene's Release.

Instant and Permanent Relief. Just one session of Greene's Release finalizes the releasing process for that topic, therefore eliminating the need to repeatedly address the same feelings and emotions.

Universally applicable. This releasing process can be applied to any emotion, memory, fear, problem, worry, anxiety, or thought etc., therefore is applicable to every life issue.

After using Greene's Release people know what and why they had struggled with an issue, how it was created and had impacted on their lives. They see it all clearly with a calm mind and can now go on to live the opposite experience as all repercussions have dissolved.

The Greene's Release technique, which has transformed the lives of people around the world, is now available in an inexpensive, activity based workbook format. The Heal Your Self workbook program will show you how to reclaim your life and rediscover a new you, free of fear and painful emotions, while the Heal Your Heart workbook program will show you how to bring your ultimate dream of love to life, free of past memories, hurts and fears.

In her book, Heal Your Self - A Journey to find You, Janet Greene reforms the concept of releasing. The book's premise is simple: All you have to do to permanently resolve any issue is follow the release process. Because, when you use Greene's Release to heal and remove your pain, all that is left is happiness; when you use Greene's Release to erase your heartache, all that is left is love; when you use Greene's Release to eliminate your negative beliefs, all that is left is love of self; when you use Greene's Release to release your emotional trauma, all that is left is peace.

The Greene's Release program will show you how to realize your life potential by showing you the steps to rediscover your innate ability to permanently resolve any issue, and open the door to the extraordinary personal growth that naturally follows each release.

With simple, step by step instruction and practical exercises to apply to your current circumstances, the Greene's Release program is an experience that empowers you to discover and continually build upon your own understanding, knowledge and ability to self direct your life.

The Greene's Release Program: The key to Your Inner Peace, Love, and Personal Freedom.

Must reading for anyone who knows someone who had Polio!
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 2 total.
Review Date: 2000-01-15
This book is so well written that you get the feeling of actually having lived through Dorothea's life and therapy. It is written both through her eyes as a Polio suvivor as well as through the professional eyes of her therapist. And, if you are a Polio survivor yourself, it will make you cry. Be prepared in case you haven't faced your own past and see the links to the future. It's not a pleasant trip back, but it may be very necessary for a bright tomorrow. It is a wonderful book for Polio survivors and all the people who love them!

Mrs. Nudelman provides those of us experiencing the effects of post-polio syndrome, and/or depression, a most usable and enlightening view of her successful struggle to overcome the easily devastating effects of this phenomenon. Co-authored with her therapist, we are also provided a unique, and more objective viewpoint, from an obviously well-trained and caring professional who provided loving assistance to this woman whom, after reading her book, one feels is very special.

great book, if you want to know what amino acid's do and how they can help you then this is a great book for you. it is only 68 pages but it is very informative. i know how much, how often and with what other supplement it should be taken with. i have already purchased many amino's on what this book recommends for my problems and issues. i have been recommending it to others and am planning on getting the more up to date version that is 244 pages long. i also purchased the thorson's guide to amino acid's which is good but healing with amino acids in my opinion is a better book because it's shorter and more to the point.
