A very interesting book where the author provides the simplest approach to handling depression and make use of it as an advantage.
The book provides easy reading yet at the same time discusses the area of concern to every one of us, i.e. how to eliminate
depression and achieve success. I find this book really useful for me. I highly recommend it to everyone, whether you suffer
from depression or not.

This book has given me a lot. A whole hell of a lot. Foremost being the knowledge I need to repair and heal my heart. Smoking
two and a half packs a day for 35 years left me with a shriveled and blackened pump and this book has given me the tips I
require to repair it. God knows I never pictured myself a health nut, my weight topped 400 lbs by the time I turned 30, but
this book gave me the spark needed to repair my ultimate valve. It seemes like every night I would find myself throwing back
the last drops of a handle of popov, but this book HAS ALTERED MY DOME. So go out and get this book if you are really committed
to cardiac health, youll be happy you did.

This book deflates the stress behind those unwanted creditor phone calls and letters with straightforward explanations about
debt relief. Told from the perspective of someone who has been there, and as a professional attorney, the author provides
first-hand experience in getting beyond credit card trauma. Now I know that I am not alone and understand the options available
to me.

I have read a number of books regarding this subject, and they usually are a just a rehash of the same old advise. However,
this book is different. The author is not afraid to tell you how he overcame his own failures and miscalculations. (How many
authors would admit that their wife openly proclaims that she is not attracted to good looking guys?) Aside from adding a
little levity to an otherwise catastrophic situation, Landry gives concise advise to someone who wants an insight into the
minds of the credit card collectors. Further, he provides hope that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. His method
in Chapter 7 for negotiating a rock bottom settlement with the collectors is worth the price of the book many times over.

This is a remarkable book - remarkable for its authority, its unusual learning friendliness in the context of the recognized
national reputation of the author. The information is presented both visually and by text, with the advice to "read the pictures
and subtext" first and then review the book. The learning of a deep and compicated subject thus becomes pleasure.

Fabulous, interesting, understandably written, and highly technical, current information. As a long time member of the bipolar
community, I constantly search for information that will help me to understand my disorder, express the causes and effects
to other consumers and interested parties and to be more fully capable of being a proactive consumer with my medical professionals.
The book is an easy read, can be put down when your brain is reaching max capacity and picked up like you never lost a beat.
Highly recommended for all consumers, medical professionals and educators dealing with mental illnesses.

I bought all 6 of the Essentials of US History both to prepare for a state test and to use in the high school classes I'll
be teaching. The books do an excellent job of creating a framework that clearly ties US events to the larger world stage.
Unlike most history books that weigh the reader down in details, these concise books emphasize cause and effect. The reader
is able to retain much more information because history is made a logical process rather than bits to be memorized.

After finishing this book, I felt like I was leaving friends behind. This was one of the best books I've read and I would
recommend it to anyone! I don't struggle with an eating disorder but after reading about Katy's problem, I understand that
it's not something people do to just get attention. At first it seems like they are controlling their eating habits but then
they find out that the eating disorder is controlling them. It's great insight for people with an eating disorder or for someone
that has a friend with an eating problem.
The book deals with a serious problem but at the same time it's very funny. Katy struggles with things that we all worry about. A bad hair experience, falling down in the middle of a classroom full of people and having to sit alone at lunch. It's like the author took all our teenage nightmares and put them into one book.
It was a book that I had a hard time putting down, but like I said, now that I have finished it, I feel like my friends are out there and I wish that there could be a sequel to Everything Changes. I want to know how Katy is dealing with her disorder now? And I wonder if she's still in love with Jason? Or if she ever heard back from the other guy, Jeremy? I wonder if she still talks to Jane and I wonder if her parents are giving her room to breathe now? This is why books should have sequels. We aren't finished reading about the characters!

This book is a great book for high school students. Everything Changes is excellent, because it shows every day events that
take place in a high school student's life. This book would do great as a series for teens in trouble. I personally cannot
wait until the next book comes out. The problems that arise in this book (eating disorders) is continuously happening more
and more in schools around the nation. Teens can easily relate to the struggles that we as teens face.

I am 38 years old and have been actively battling an anxiety disorder for over 20 years, including 8 years of seeing a therapist.
During this time I have healed/progressed just slightly and concluded that I was just a special person that was "un-fixable".
Then I read this book and my life and outlook have changed tremendously. The author explains the way people learn these self
destructive behaviors and the solution to them in a totally unique way. I have read many self help books and none of them
come even close to this book. It's very practical, and not overly wordy. This book will change your life!

This book really works~ So many books give you exercises to do that treat the symptoms, but don't go to the root of the problem
and eradicate it. This book gives you insight to why you do the obsessive compulsions, or have general anxiety, or panic attacks
and depression. Then the author tells you what steps to take in order to change your thinking about yourself to the truth,
and then gives you the self-talk to change your opinion about yourself. To those who repeatedly hurt you with constant criticism
and ridicule when you were a child, you are told that it was their problem, not yours. You are not bad, you are, you have
always been a good person. Buy this book. Another good one is Brain Lock, by Jeffrey Schwartz, It goes into a lot of scientific
studies, and it gives some good practical steps for change too. Happy reading...

Something about this book cought my eye, and I'm so glad I picked it up. Difficult subjects like depression and thoughts
of suicide can sometimes turn into an afterschool special, but Clinton handles it with such creativity that you forget that
you are reading about despair and leave the book with a feeling of hope. Her main theme is perspective. As a reader on the
outside of the situation you can see the downward spiral happening and feel powerless to stop it, but once Jude (the main
character) begins to see things from another perspective...well, read for yourself. Highly recommended.

A small town in Pennsylvania is yet another move and new school experience for Jude and her shiftless mother, but unlike the
other towns, Jude finds reasons to want to stay. She regularly visits her grandmother, in a post-stroke coma, and imagines
her grandma's responses to Jude's thoughts and questions to be caring and supportive, unlike what she has ever known in her
life. In her senior year of high school, she is blessed with two real friends and a teacher who encourages her artistic talent
and who *gets it* when she identifies with the tortured artist, Van Gogh.
Jude's loneliness and depression are real and gently portrayed and her pursuit of the security she has always longed for leads her to a reality that she cannot allow herself to believe is real. She gives in to the depression and decides life is not worth living, yet in doing so, she moves through the what appears to be defeat to finding hope for the future.
Cathryn Clinton has sensitively and accurately tapped the universal need to belong and to be understood and readers of all ages will empathize with Jude and will champion her life, not wanting the story to end, wanting to know who and what she becomes as she continues to grow up.

Easy to read and careful to keep technical jargon to a minimum, this book is for anyone who has experienced depression or
knows someone who does. The cover design is an intriguing commentary on the experience of depression, the book is an artful
arrangement of narratives and confessions which exemplify the various faces depression can wear, and the conclusion is a powerful
call for understanding from a world which contributes more to the pain than it does to the relief of depression. Few readers
will fail to recognize themselves, and more will know they are not alone. Windchild.

Dr. Nelson brings you into the worlds of a number of real people who experience depression. Having experienced depression
myself, I have to say that the book does an incredible job of bringing you into the experiences of those who are depressed.
If you have a significant other, a family member, a friend, or a neighbor who experiences depression, or you experience it
yourself, this is a MUST-READ.
